President CIO Council

Yugo Neumorni, CISA, EMBA is the President of CIO Council Romania and the IT&C Director for Hidroelectrica, the Romanian power generation leader and the major supplier of ancillary services required in the Romanian National Energy System.

He supported from the CIO’s role the Hidroelectrica growth of the business from insolvency to the most profitable company from Romania, to more than 300 mln EUR net profit, and to a 65% EBITDA. He coordinated directly a major SAP implementation project for Hidroelectrica (300 users, 12 modules) in a very challenging timeframe and during large-scale company transformation process. The SAP project was awarded with Gold Winner of the 2017 SAP Quality Awards contest in the Fast Delivery category in CEE.

Yugo was the Head of IT for Vimetco for 10 years, the largest aluminum producer from South Eastern Europe, an integrated aluminum company present in Europe, China and West Africa. He supported from CIO position the IT transformation of the group from “the green field level” to the international “shared services” model. Previously he worked for Deloitte Central Europe as IT Manager being responsible for Romania and Moldova offices.

Having more than 24 years of experience in the IT industry and more than 13 years in the CIO positions, Yugo Neumorni is specialized in reorganization, planning, design and implementation of complex industrial IT environments for multinational companies. His area of expertise includes ERP (SAP) projects, large scale IT division reorganization and development, IT security & cyber, SCADA and industrial control systems, IT audit and IT governance, business processes in energy and manufacturing, COBIT framework, ITIL.

Yugo is the President and co-Founder of CIO Council Romania and he was for many years the President and Board member of ISACA Romania. He is the organizer of CIO Council Conferences one of the most popular event from the IT industry in Romania.

He has a Computer Science degree in Polytechnic University in Bucharest since 1995 and he graduated an EMBA program with Asebuss (Romania) and Kennesaw State University (USA).
