Dragoş-Nicolae Pîslaru is an economist by training, having a Master’s degree in International Relations at the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the National Institute of Economic Research of the Romanian Academy.

After nine years of academic career and applied economic research at the Academy of Economic Studies (ASE-REI) in Bucharest, at the Romanian Center for Economic Policies (CEROPE) and at the Group of Applied Economics (GEA), he has ventured into private consulting as Partner and General manager at Gea Strategy & Consulting SA, where he coordinated numerous key strategic projects in both public and private sectors.

In December 2015, Dragoş joins the technocrat Government led by Prime-Minister Dacian Cioloș as the State Advisor for Economic Affairs, and then from April 2016 he was appointed Minister at the Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Protection and the Elderly.

Starting March 2017, with the merger of Gea Strategy & Consulting S.A. with Civitta international consulting company, Dragoş returns to the private sector as a Partner in charge of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Dragoş is a dedicated supporter of the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Romania and in the region, with an inclination towards creative industries and tech-based innovative business. In addition, he remained connected with the planning and evaluation processes of public policies related to economic competitiveness, regional development and RDI, etc. fields in which he worked at national and international level for the European Commission, World Bank, OECD, etc.
